BAR-V2 Bioacoustic Recorder

The BAR-V2 is a lightweight, compact Bioacoustic recorder. It offers all the functionality of its predecessor, the BAR-LT, but in a smaller, lighter form. The rechargeable lithium battery pack allows for over 600 hours of recording time, and the ultra-low power sleep mode allows the recorder to hibernate for years, and wake up for seasonal recordings (the unit can also be powered by 4x AA alkaline batteries). The 5-port BAR-V2 can charge up to 5 recorders simultaneously- ideal for recharging between deployments.

The built-in GPS automatically synchronises time and geo-tags your recordings. When deployed in an array, the BAR-V2 enables precise 3D localisation of animal calls using time-synchronisation technology and time-difference-of-arrival calculations. This capability allows researchers to accurately pinpoint animal positions in three-dimensional space, unlocking opportunities for individual counts, spatial behaviour studies, and more.

The BAR-V2 ships with two highly sensitive, low-noise omnidirectional microphones, each with an internal memory chip. The recorders automatically log the microphones' serial numbers and manufacture dates for every recording made, allowing the user to track the age of the microphones. The microphones for the BAR-V2 share the same specifications as other BAR recorders, but with a more streamlined design.

All Frontier Labs recorders can be configured with the included scheduling software, making seasonal or long-term deployment simple and reliable. The unit features a rugged, waterproof, lockable, camouflaged enclosure made from tough UV-resistant plastic, making the BAR-V2 a reliable field-ready performance in any terrestrial deployment.
