Nightfox Nova Night Vision Binoculars

The NightFox Nova is an excellent, no-nonsense, affordable set of night vision binoculars designed with ecologists in mind.

The Nightfox Nova has a 60 frames-per-second sensor and display which delivers smooth, real-time motion clarity, making it easier to track fast, unpredictable flight paths of bats on survey. With a 55° field of view (or 70° with the detachable wide-angle lens), Nova allows you to monitor a broader section of a building, woodland edge or hedgerow without constantly repositioning. The Nova has a 140m viewing distance and 3x digital magnification, optimised for clear, immersive observation within typical bat survey distances rather than extreme-range zoom.

The integrated tripod thread provides stable, hands-free observation during emergence surveys or fixed monitoring points. HDMI output allows connection to an external field monitor or TV. Built to be reliable on site during damp evenings, light rain and dusty environments, Nova’s IP54 rating ensures a dependable performance during real-world ecological fieldwork.

Nova's microphone jack lets you plug in a bat detector directly, syncing its audio with your night vision footage in real time. Instead of trying to line up two separate recordings afterwards, you get flight behaviour and call characteristics together in one file, making species identification far easier. Add a simple audio splitter and you can listen to the detector live while it's still recording.

Nova's pre-installed 64GB TF card, record over three hours of AVI video. Select either 1080p @ 30fps or 720p @ 60fps on the Settings menu. Increase the recording time by using your own TF card, up to a maximum of 256GB. The Nova is powered by two high-capacity 3500mAh 18650 batteries, designed for extended evening surveys. For even longer operating time, the LCD display can be turned off using the dedicated screen on/off button.
