The Pulsar Wildlife Alaris XQ30 is a compact, budget-friendly thermal monocular designed for modern birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. Inspired by the Latin Alaris XQ30, meaning “of the wing,” this device combines portability with pro-grade thermal imaging technology. Its 384×288, 17µm thermal sensor and 30mm f1.2 objective lens deliver stunning clarity, a <20mK sNETD rating for low noise, and an impressive 1050 m detection range—all in a lightweight, easy-to-hold package.
The Alaris XQ30 offers three sensitivity amplification levels, allowing users to adjust brightness and contrast for optimal performance in varying weather and environmental conditions. A generous 23.3 m @ 100 m (13.3°) reveals more within a wide observation area, making it easier to scan and detect heat sources quickly. The Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode further enhances usability by providing a small viewing screen in the top 10% of the monocular display, allowing a closer view of an object without losing sight of the surrounding area.
Featuring a high-contrast 600×400 AMOLED display, the Alaris XQ30 delivers sharp, smooth thermal imagery with improved colour rendering, even in frosty conditions. Despite its compact size, the device is built to last, with a magnesium alloy bodyshell that resists weather, bumps, and drops. Its IPX7 water resistance rating ensures reliable performance in heavy rain, and the alloy also acts as a heatsink, reducing noise and maintaining efficiency during extended use.
Powered by a quick-change APS3 rechargeable battery, the Alaris XQ30 provides up to 8 hours of observation and supports USB Type-C fast charging for minimal downtime. The device includes eight colour palettes to optimize visibility for different tasks, whether detecting objects or identifying wildlife. A built-in still image and video recorder captures thousands of photos and hours of footage directly to the device, with one-touch operation for convenience. This footage can be downloaded with a USB-C cable or the built-in WiFi Module.
The Alaris XQ30 can use the Wild Vision app to connect to your smartphone or tablet. The app enables remote control of the device, real-time adjustments, and easy sharing of photos and videos. It also supports firmware updates, ensuring the device stays up-to-date with the latest features and performance enhancements.
