Si le Chant des Baleines s'Éteignait

Who has not been spellbound by the singing of whales responding to each other through the vastness of the oceans, by the sight of dolphins playing in front of the bow of a boat or the soulful eyes of baby seals on the ice? In our imagination, marine mammals are cute animals. But what do we know about the reality of the threats they face and their slow disappearance from our rivers and oceans? These animals are actively contributing to the rich biodiversity of our planet; their decline would be a tragedy.

Animal photographer and science journalist, Jean-Pierre Sylvestre is an adventurer of the natural sciences. In this fascinating book, both a detailed account of species and a travel log, the reader is invited to travel the world patiently watching these species that, such as the polar bear and whale, are in danger of disappearing.
